Mar de Jade is an eco-friendly resort 1 1/2 hours north of Puerto Vallarta, nestled on the edge of lush, tropical forest overlooking the Chacala beach. There is a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and spa.

Life at Mar De Jade is simple luxury at a snail's pace. No deadlines, no ringing phones, no traffic... In the mornings, as the sun rises and the pelicans begin their slow skimming of the waves, we sit in silent meditation, absorbing the beauty and peace. Asana practice follows, with an invigorating mix of movement and breath designed to cleanse and strengthen your whole being. In the evenings we meet again for a soothing and relaxing session of slow stretches that reconnect you to your deepest self. The rest of the day is yours to do with as you like. The beach is in front of you, beckoning, the jungle behind you whispers. Massage, snorkeling, fishing, hiking, Spanish lessons, karma yoga, spa, they are all just a few steps away. At the heart of Mar De Jade is the kitchen, where loving hands work ceaselessly to create incredible works of culinary art with the simplest and most fresh local ingredients-- breakfast, lunch and dinner. The new jungle spa will be a great hang out for evening dips, steam baths, Indian ritual sauna, massages, and all the star glow we can bathe in.

Mar de Jade is also committed to serving the local community and supporting a local medical clinic. Accepted donations of summer clothing, school or art supplies, medicines, etc. can be brought to the center where they are then redistributed to the local community. About The Teachers

It was in the 70s when Tracy Hodgeman's alternatively minded mother first introduced her to the practice of yoga. It took 20 more years and a fractured cervical vertebrae before she finally surrendered herself completely to the call and jumped into the cosmic soup without a backward glance. Her early training is in Iyengar yoga, and she has been studying Ashtanga yoga with David and Catherine Garrigues in Seattle for over eight years. Tracy has made the pilgrimage to India to study with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, as well as attending classes with him when he travels to the US. Eight years ago Tracy took another leap of faith and jumped into the fire of teaching. Her great respect for the practice of yoga mixed with equal parts humor and compassion make for a healthy blend of strength and nurturing that encourages each student to find their own place of balance. Tracy draws her inspiration from her teachers, her students, and the wisdom that only comes from "doing your practice." She also has a yoga DVD for sale, Tracy's Yoga Hour, email her for more info. at tracyogini@gmail.com.

Heather Rudin became inspired by yoga after years of dance studies.   She began teaching yoga classes in Seattle in 1997. Her teacher certifications include the Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training at the Mount Madonna Center in California and the Samadhi Yoga Teacher Training with Kathleen Hunt. Heather teaches a flow style yoga class with a strong focus on breath and alignment. She encourages her students to discover a calm state of being through the discipline of their practice.
